Aviagen Successfully Hosted Customer Events at VIV Asia 2015

2015/4/20

The Aviagen® stand featured the theme ‘Industry Leader’ during the recent VIV Asia exhibition, differentiating the company and promoting the 3 commercial brands; Arbor Acres®, Indian River® and Ross® distributed in the Asia region. Significant preparation across the product teams enabled the company to successfully execute several activities in addition to hosting customers from Asia and also the Middle East, Africa market during the show.

The planning that precedes a major industry show included the publication of product newsletters describing recent events and new 2015 competitor trial data generated at BARC (Bangkok Agricultural Research Center), a Bangkok based independent trial facility. In addition, recent nutrition trial information highlighting enhanced live performance from the new 2014 diet recommendations over the earlier nutrition specifications, were also available for interested visitors to the Aviagen stand.

During the VIV Asia tradeshow, customers were invited to a dinner at the Fahrenheit restaurant in the exhibition building, immediately at the conclusion of the first day. The dinner attracted 160 attendees. This was followed on Thursday by 3 one hour brand seminars; focused on the changes and additions in the 2014 Broiler Handbook; Performance Objectives and Nutrition Specifications. Response to the seminars was overwhelmingly positive with 200 customers in total attending the 3 sessions. Customers also had the opportunity of visiting BARC to handle birds in a trial and witness for themselves the differences in performance of the individual products being tested. Customers responded favorably to this opportunity with over 60 visitors taking advantage of the half day visits.

International Product Manager, Dominic Elfick was the opening speaker at a seminar entitled “Putting A Number On Sustainability.” He addressed the audience with a presentation on ‘A Breeders View of Sustainability’ which enabled him to demonstrate that the genetic improvement in FCR and growth rate, from a breeding company like Aviagen, contributes 80-90% of the reduction in the green house gases generated during the production phase.

“We are encouraged by the feedback and appreciation given for the specific events planned for customers during the tradeshow. The opportunity to benefit from personal interaction and hands-on involvement always works well and we will continue to look at other opportunities in the future,” commented Bill Souther, Senior VP, Aviagen Asia.
